Blessings Abound, Progress Begins

This week marks the end of our fundraiser. Praise Christ! We raised $3150 and there are even several more donations that are expected that haven't come in the mail yet. We sat after practice last night discussing how blessed we are by all of the contributions. Your gifts are not overlooked, and we deeply appreciate your confidence in what we are doing.
Starting Thursday we'll begin tracking for the new EP. We can't wait to get these songs out, but it'll still be awhile till you hear them. Keep us in your prayers.

Love,
The Captive

Dear YHWH,

Thank you for our guitars and our amps. Thank you for our drums and our cymbals. Thank you for our new cool recording mics. Thank you for a room that we can use to record in. Thank you for a free install of Logic Pro Studio. Thank you for a free recording interface. Thank you for studio monitors. Thank you for neighbors that don't complain about 6 hour long recording sessions, and practices twice a week. Thank you that Brandon and his wife get good gas milage. Thank you for creativity to write these songs. Thank you for generous hearts and financial backers to fund it all. Thank you for prayers. Thank you for guidance. Thank you for all your help, we couldn't do it without you.

Amen.

THEY NOT READY

Thursday night we practiced for 5 hours straight. We finished up one song and got it ready to demo this weekend. Afterwards, we made a quick run up to kroger and got some hot dogs. Grilled them over a firepit in the backyard.

Woke up Friday morning and finished up another song, which means we have completed 6 songs and have them ready to demo/record. After we have demos of all 6 songs, we'll critique them some more for another month or so and then record them for real in mid may. Brandon may need some new cymbals by then though....

Renaissance

It has been SO LONG since we've been this busy.
Practice THRICE a week now, not including some get togethers between me and Tyler to hammer out some more guitars. Planning a benefit concert in Denton on April 24th, a bake sale/acoustic show on May 1st, recording more demos next weekend, planning recording in mid may, and booking another midwest tour for july. Not to mention working on design work for the cd and lyric booklet and edit film for the DVD.
Its sweet though cause everyone's super into it and doing what they can to help out. We've also been blessed with an opportunity to talk about this whole thing in front of a church, so hopefully we'll be able to get some more donations that way.

had some trouble in practice this weekend with a song, but I guess sometimes you've gotta have a bad practice to appreciate the good. Keep us in your prayers.

...AND PRAISE THE LORD FOR EASTER!

PROGRESS

Wow, its been an amazing weekend. Brandon came up and we practiced for awhile on Thursday night. After practice we had an airsoft war for an hour or two, then ended the night with a game of poker with some friends.
The next morning we all woke up and had a business meeting, talking about all sorts of things. It was good to make progress. Then we practiced for a few more hours.
This song, "demons" is what we refer to it as (primarily because of the lyrics about oppression), totally transformed. Its great when one person suggests the perfect idea that totally transforms a song to something way better than just verse, chorus, verse, chorus. We've got plans to record and we're organizing more weekends to complete demos for four more songs.

More exciting news, Brandon and his wife Sara will be moving to Denton this summer into the house I currently live in. Ethan is also trying to arrange things so that he can move in. Living together will make practicing and writing SO much better and easier. So pray that everything goes smoothly.

Also, we've been working on booking for another midwest tour in July. Soon I'll post some cities that we're having trouble with. In the mean time, please pray for our donation station website and promote it however you can.

Praise the Lord for the work he does!

I never thought I could type in the same URL so many times. I keep going back to the website, so pumped to see if people donated. And they do!
2 days in, $300 down.
Truly truly, we are so blessed by your financial sacrifices. Thank you for being a part of what we're doing!

This Is The Fun Part

The past two days have been BUSY BUSY!
I came down to GNARlington to help Brandon finish up the site and take care of a few other things. He worked on coding that thing for SO LONG. Basically like 9:30AM-6:00PM, and we were just putting the finishing touches on it!
It's been a really cool thing though to get to make it ourselves. We were able to have every graphic exactly how we want it and we were able to take the time to do that, thank the Lord.
Anyway, hopefully if you're reading this you know by now that the website is UP!
We'll be promoting it as often as we can for the next two months, and we hope that you'll join us in that. By like Friday or so we hope to have updated the multimedia page with various banners and other ways you can help us promote it.
We need your help!

But more importantly, if you can't give financially, that's TOTALLY cool. However, if you can help in any way, weather that be prayer, promoting, or really anything, you are GREATLY appreciated.

So now it's all out there. Out of our hands again. This is the fun part.

Practice Makes Website

We just finished a really long day. Brandon came up to Denton really early and we worked on the website (which will launch soon). Got some free chik fil a and then hit it hard, working on perhaps our oldest song with Brandon as a drummer.
WOW! The whole thing completely changed. Its one step closer to where we want it to be. Only problem is when we timed it it was almost 7 minutes. Gonna have to trim some fat.
Anyway, a great practice overall. We left in high spirits and shot each other with some airsoft guns once or twice. Hopefully the website will be up FRIDAY, so keep your eyes peeled.
